So you know what God can do?

Matthew 6:9-13 (NET)

Our Father in heaven, may your name be honored,  may your kingdom come, may your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us today our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we ourselves have forgiven our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

Romans 8:28 (NKJV)

28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Daniel 3:16-18 (MSG)

16-18 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered King Nebuchadnezzar, “Your threat means nothing to us. If you throw us in the fire, the God we serve can rescue us from your roaring furnace and anything else you might cook up, O king. But even if he doesn’t, it wouldn’t make a bit of difference, O king. We still wouldn’t serve your gods or worship the gold statue you set up.”

Just the facts… Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego said,

“If you throw us in the fire…”

and so we know they knew that being thrown in the fire was a very real possibility. Then they said,

“The God we serve can rescue us from your roaring furnace…”

they believe God can rescue them from the fire.

“…and anything else you might cook up, O king.”

So not only do they believe God can rescue them from fire, but they taunt the king. Why use fire, king? Come on… God can save us from anything you can imagine.

“ But even if he doesn’t,”

This surprises me! You mean to tell me they did all that boasting in God’s ability and they didn’t have a personal prophetic confirmation that God was going to rescue them? Not a sign from heaven or a dream… they simply believed in God’s ability?? We know what faith in God sounds like now!

“…It wouldn’t make a bit of difference, O king. We still wouldn’t serve your gods or worship the gold statue you set up.”

Here it is… the ultimate faith in action. Whatever happens, I will not bow down to circumstances. Know God? Know what he can do? STOP!!! That seemed to be enough for Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, so why keep on going? Why figure out where or when or how? Just know He can and trust in that and wait. You might not be delivered when you think it’s time, but I know three guys who can testify that it is in fact impossible for God to be late. Focus on God’s ability and this scripture…

Romans 8:28 (NKJV)

28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

That love part, don’t neglect it cause it’s the key.
